I caught the photography bug from my dad when I was ten but only made it my career choice when I dropped out of electronic engineering at university and signed up at Art School instead.
From that moment on I never had any doubts about the path I was following. Two years of freelance assisting led into first commissions from World of Interiors and publishing companies in the UK, Europe and Thailand where I lived and worked for a year (definitely a high!). Returning to London, settling down and having two children meant concentrating on editorial and advertising work for clients in the UK including Elle Decoration, Vanity Fair & Conran Live it.
I fell in love with South Africa & Cape Town while shooting there, came back on holiday and bought a white wooden house on Noordhoek beach which is decorated as simply as possible but with a modern twist. My house in London is a small Victorian townhouse with dark wood floors, white walls & an original fifties metal kitchen. I think décor should be personal, original and sensitive to the type of architecture you inhabit. I now happily split my time between shooting for UK and SA clients. Time Spent in SA definitely encourages more enjoyment of children & friends, nature and the stunning outdoor environment. London is a fantastic buzz of culture, fashion and new ideas. Décor for me is a wonderful blend of fashion, design, form and function.
